Dj Blues Magoo Bio:
I've been a music fan for most of my life, sarting with Top 40 as a preteen. I am the youngest of 6 and music was always playing in my house. Being as I was the youngest, I was exposed to all my older siblings tastes, everything from big band, Johnny Mathis, Motown and Psychedelic rock. One day while listening to Top 40, my older brother told me to try some good music, he gave me some of his albums. They were "The Doors" by The Doors, "Wheels of Fire" by Cream , "Cheap Thrills " by Janis Joplin, and "Are You Experienced" by Jimi Hendrix. And so, began my lifelong journey of musical bliss. I've always had a curious mind and loved reading about bands and the stories behind them. After listening for years to British Invasion stuff, I started reading up on who influenced my heroes. People like Jeff Beck, Jimmy Page, Eric Clapton, etc, and saw almost all of them, were heavily influenced by the great blues masters. My curiosity spiked and I began looking up the artists they mentioned, (this was pre-internet, so it was much harder than today) Anyways , long story short, I was hooked on the Blues.
About Sunset Blues:
Sunset Blues is what it says, my favorite blues throughout the years , along with audience selections and some blues/rock thrown in for variety. Some of it you may not consider blues, but if it deals with lonelines or death etc, I may play it....And that's ok, because it seems a lot of people, consider different things to be the blues. My main objective is to share some gems I have discovered through the years, and to hear what you love ....
So it's time to learn from each other every week.
